Ice Cream for Everyone!

Instead of just buying a boring cone or cup of ice cream, I like to mix it up.
I've come to believe that I have some imagination when it comes to creating delicious things and therefore decided to create this masterpiece.

Ingredients:
Berries- your choice but I happen to love raspberries and blueberries
*when it comes to your berries aim for fresh ones but frozen ones work too
Ice cream- vanilla, this way you still get to taste the berries
Meringue- sweet and adds a bit of crunch to your dessert

Devilish as it may look, it must be healthy right? I'm not a nutritionist but I assume so since it has berries in it :)

Midsummer

Showing my true love for nature while feeding ducks. In the picture they look rather innocent but make no mistake, they were feisty!

Midsummer, the longest and brightest day of the year was celebrated on Friday, June 25. Instead of gathering around the maypole I decided to celebrate and join a private party instead. This picture was taken right before midnight but it really doesn't show right?

Chandelier

Inspired by the time spent at the opera house where I saw beautiful large chandeliers everywhere, I figured I'd try to recreate the feeling in my own home. I got this baroque style chandelier at an auction house. What do you think? Building my future home step by step.

In The Bags

Light and summery, this purple dress stole my heart with the soft natural fabric and the flowers on the top.

At 'Inside & Living' I found the prettiest box of French Rose Green Tea. Being a tea lover it was a must have. I had a cup this morning and felt super refreshed tasting the mixture of rose and green tea. Yum.

All these fabulous purple clothes are from the hot brand Dranella with the exception of the top which is from Soyaconcept, puchased at the lifestyle store 'Inside & Living'.

Feeling completely inspired by the new Sex and The City movie (2), a trip to Indiska felt appropriate. Recognizing the ethnic clothes worn in the middle eastern scenes set in Abu Dhabi I fell for this decorated top/ tunic and the dress below.

Shopping Time

After working at the opera, I felt it was time to reward myself with a bit of retail shopping. One of my favorite past time activities in case you didn't know. Stores 'Inside & Living', 'Indiska', 'Twilfit', 'Noa Noa', and Lilla Magasinet where just a few of my stops. For all those wondering, I'm wearing the fabulous new sandals that I purchased at Siam Paragon in Bangkok.

Interning at the Opera

Easy to get lost in gorgeousness, the costume department was enormous stocking thousands of classical growns, dresses, tutus, suits and shoes. I was allowed behind the scenes, onto the stage, into the dressing rooms, the costumes, make-up, and wig departments. I even had the pleasure of watching rehersals. Something you might not think about and something which I certainly never could have imagined before my internship was the vast size of the operations and the many departments behind the scene.

My favorite moment was without a doubt the second I got to go on stage. It was hard to resist the urge to burst out in song and show the staff what they'd been missing out on.

Macbeth at the Royal Swedish Opera

I went to see one of the last performances of Giuseppe Verdi's interpretation of Shakespeare's psychological thriller Macbeth. This was especially fun after my backstage tour which I went to a few days earlier and my upcoming internship in the costume department. The opera was performed in Italian and was absolutely amazing! I loved this opera, it was tragic yet romantic and beautiful.

Dinner at Rosendals Trädgård

Before an evening of listening to Macbeth, I stopped by Rosendal for a quick bite at their café. After, enjoyed a stroll in the garden and then went shopping at the homely gift store. This place is a great escape into nature, also a bit reminiscent of a fairytale when there on a less busy day.

Tomas & Me

Hello friends, meet my new fabulous acquaintance, Tomas Cederlund from the TV series Simon & Tomas’s Sveriges Fulaste Hem [Sweden’s ugliest homes]. For all you Swedes out there I seriously suggest you take a look as it deals with home makeovers and interior decorating tips.

Their fabulous store, London W8, in downtown Stockholm

The entrance to the Royal Swedish Opera House

Ladies, and gentlemen, may I introduce you to the prestigious Royal Swedish Opera House, located in downtown Stockholm. Not only did I see it from the outside but also had the pleasure of a backstage tour!

The view from stage
Fun fact: The stage floor is slanted 4%. When the opera house was first built in the 1800s, stage design was certainly not as advanced as it is now, many operas and ballets relied on 2D backdrops to set the scene. In order to get a more realistic and lifelike set the floor was slanted to make it appear more 3d and add depth. It was and still is much more convenient for the audience who can see the entire stage with ease. Supposedly it's very difficult for a ballerina who practices on a non-slanted floor.

I came, I saw,  and I even conquered the many gowns, dresses and costumes.

Say what!?! That’s right, I found what my future home will look like :) Simon and Tomas fasten your seat belts! The decor of the opera house was a dream! The high ceilings, the intricate details, are simply gorgeous.

Right next to the opera is the Swedish Dance Museum. I popped in for a visit as there was an exhibition on historical dance costumes from around the world.

I love this pink costume because of its colorful applique.

Copenhagen

Fresh off my flight from Tokyo, I'm at the Malene Birger boutique at the airport. The Danish designer is highly regarded for her designs and has adopted the nickname "Queen of Fashion" in Copenhagen.

Quick Stop at Tokyo Narita Airport

Working it at Tokyo Narita Airport. Fully packed and ready to see the world or at least Stockholm and London. Forget about comfort, style is priority number one as you never know who you'll end up meeting.

Tokyo has some of the world's best shops and stores. Along with that they have Tsutaya. Tsutaya is my personal favorite, they stock more magazines than you could possibly imagine or read. These are just a few of my must haves: Classy, JJ, Vogue Nippon, Glamorous, etc .
