Butoh
Last week I attended a screening of films featuring the Japanese avant-garde dance of Butoh. Then this Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to experience it live as well.
I wasn't permitted to take any photos during the performance but instead took these from the movies that I saw. The dance was really intense, It typically involves grotesque imagery, taboo topics, and is performed in white body makeup with slow controlled motion. It may even be purely conceptual.
An American In Paris
After spending the day editing my film, I've decided there could be nothing better than winding down by with the classic film An American In Paris. It will be my first time watching the movie but after already having watched Singing In The Rain, I know it will be amazing. Starring the fantastic dancer/actor Gene Kelly, I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Hard At Work
Apologies for the inactivity on my blog, but sometimes a girl has to work. Lately I've been working on several projects at once. Yesterday I finally started filming my psychological art thriller. I'm super excited to see how it turns out. Today I'm heading to the lab to begin editing and see how my clips turned out.
When not filming or editing my time is spent in the studio where I'm currently working on my latest painting.
