Indian Food At Wetherspoon Pub
Yum! It's seriously been forever since I last had some Indian food so I decided to break my dry spell by indulging in some chicken tikka masala. Shame on me, it's also been far too long since my last pub visit! The truth is that the pub culture is an essential social event here in London that it would be too sad if I missed out. It's time for me to get my act together and engage in some truly British pastimes!
The Crypt
Spooky, queue the dramatic music! Although architecturally speaking a crypt is a stone chamber or vault beneath the floor of a burial vault which possible contains coffins, this is not the case at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church by Trafalgar Square. Instead, their crypt is a café and acts as a gathering place where on Wednesdays it turns into a jazz night. Intense atmosphere is all I can say!
Dinner at The Cabin
There's nothing better than an evening out, which involves great company, great entertainment, and yummy food!
Had an early dinner at the restaurant The Cabin, which was super cozy and as the evening progressed filled up really quickly.
Yum, I tried to stay as healthy as possible for the main course as the restaurant specializes in steaks and seafood. As for dessert, I went full on with the chocolate and indulged in a fudge sundae. Words can't describe the chocolate buzz I was on after! It's a must try!
Hummingbird Bakery
I simply adore experimenting and tasting new fabulous baked goods but then again who wouldn't when it comes to the Hummingbird Bakery! My goal is to try all of their delicious flavours! Already being well into completing my goal, I figured I had to try their red velevet cupcake which I've been ogling for a while now. My conclusion is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Next up is something called a whoopie pie, I'm drooling already!
At The Boulangerie
Stopped by the authentic Italian Princi Bakery, which provides amazing foods where wholemeal organic, stone-ground flours are used for bread and natural fermentation. The breads are to die for and don't even get me started on the pâtisserie (pastries/sweets) section! I also heard a rumor that the bakery is open 24-hours with freshly baked goods. Perhaps the perfect place to do some late night grocery shopping. Yum!
Snog
Nutritious but naughty! Went to the funky and delicious frozen yogurt shop Snog on Soho street to get my fill of a slightly healthier option than ice cream.
Yum! The toppings are plenty and not all healthy. My favorite combination is the plain yogurt mixed with fresh rasberries, blueberries, and strawberries. It's seriously beyond delicious but for my next trip I'm honestly contemplating trying a lethal combination of brownies and cookies!
Hoxton Apprentice
Yesterday I went out for lunch at the restaurant Hoxton Apprentice and the food was delicious!
I had a delicious meal which consisted of chicken with steamed vegetables and potatoes dauphinoise. They also served a super fresh burger with the most amazing french fries ever! Love!
The service was great, as was the food!
As for dessert, I had this yummy lemon tart! So, if you ever find yourself in Hoxton, London, don't hesitate to try this delicious little find!
Jamie's Italian
Yum! I seriously love this place! The atmosphere is exciting although always very busy and crowded. Seated next to the charcuterie, I had the perfect view of everything coming out of this section of the kitchen.
Call me dull, but I had the same meal as I always do when visiting Jamie's. I opted for the pear and prosciutto salad. It's super fresh and really delightful!
Naughty, naughty however, I feel no guilt over this kind of treat. A chocolate brownie with rasberry and cherry fillings, paired with a wicked good vanilla ice cream on the side. Can't resist!
Traditional Sweets
Reow! The traditional sweet shops are to die for! Enjoy the pictures, but is your laptop liquid proof? Beware! :P
Italian Delights
Gelato (ice cream) is an ancient Italian frozen dessert and extremely delicious! The history of gelato dates back to frozen desserts served in ancient Rome and Egypt made from ice and snow brought down from mountaintops and preserved below ground. Reow, delicious treats with a history, love!
Limoncello di Angelino is an Italian lemon liqueur that is very popular here in Italy.
Bruschetta is an antipasto from central Italy, which origin dates to at least the 15th century. It consists of roasted bread rubbed with garlic and topped with extra-virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.
Who would visit Italy and not have a pizza? I certainly wouldn't dream of it.
Rosendals
Had a fabulous lunch at Rosendal's Gardens. If anyone dares try it sometime I suggest you take caution of the fierce little birds that rule the school. This little one managed to find its home in a garden salad.
Cupcake Mania
In celebration of my sister's graduation, I did something that I never do. I baked! Inspired by the latest addition to my library, The Hummingbird Bakery Cake Days cookbook.
Suggestion: keep the cupcakes in a cupcake tray or else you risk having them float out.
I cooked up a storm with the result being mocha cupcakes sprinkled with a cappuccino finish.
Godiva
Feel free to feast your eyes as I have done with my tastebuds. It was a strawberry theme at Godiva during my latest visit. Tip of the trade: it's the perfect solution to a guilty conscience. They're also a seriously delicious treat!
By simply looking at this picture I have begun salivating! There's really nothing better than some fresh berries married to my love of chocolate! If you haven't tried anything like this before, I suggest you hit the kitchen pronto and try to concoct your own version as quickly as possible as they are super tasty.
Jamie's Italian
Antipasto at Jamie's Italian restaurant. Yum!!!!! The olives may look mouth-watering but they were even more delicious than you can imagine!
On the way home with the bus, I got to sit first row on the top floor which is not an easy thing to do by the way. It gave me the opportunity to take an extra good look at the town. I love the many historical buildings and architecture that can be seen.
Sweet Couture
Yum! I am drooling all over my computer simply by reminiscing over these pictures. No joke, and gathering by the name of the shop, you can quickly tell that I was enchanted. Sometimes when you need a pick me up the most, life will lead you in the right direction.
So what exactly did I snack on? Guilty as I am I had not only one but two wonderful cupcakes. I tried a double chocolate because I simply couldn't resist and a rasberry and coconut concoction.
Truth be told, they were even more delicious than they look!
