Easter
Darlings, I don't think I've ever fully realized the power of Easter decorations after having lived in Asia for so long now. I only first realized how intensively it is celebrated back in the West when in London during my spring break. I am fully on board though, who could resist the beautiful pastels and elaborately fruitful decorations covering the shop windows!
At Maison Ladurée the fanciful boxes were in rich, soft pink and green pastels. I feasted on a delightful box full of Parisian macaroons in flavors of rasberry, vanilla, cappuccino, and chocolate.
Even the local taxis were decorated in celebration of Kenzo's 40th anniversary by being covered in fresh summery flowers! Upon seeing one pass me by on the street it couldn't help but brighten up my day. Absolutely loved it!
Happy Easter!
Lovely treat from my grandma and grandpa. It really brightened up my day!
Love you!
Godiva
Feel free to feast your eyes as I have done with my tastebuds. It was a strawberry theme at Godiva during my latest visit. Tip of the trade: it's the perfect solution to a guilty conscience. They're also a seriously delicious treat!
By simply looking at this picture I have begun salivating! There's really nothing better than some fresh berries married to my love of chocolate! If you haven't tried anything like this before, I suggest you hit the kitchen pronto and try to concoct your own version as quickly as possible as they are super tasty.
Jamie's Italian
Antipasto at Jamie's Italian restaurant. Yum!!!!! The olives may look mouth-watering but they were even more delicious than you can imagine!
On the way home with the bus, I got to sit first row on the top floor which is not an easy thing to do by the way. It gave me the opportunity to take an extra good look at the town. I love the many historical buildings and architecture that can be seen.
It's Stephen All The Way
While in London I managed to visit my love Stephen Jones's store. Located in Covent Garden, this fierce millinery shop is worth a visit! After recently receiving the glittering coffee table book featuring his works, I couldn't resist the temptation of taking a sneak peak at the real deal. I would absolutely love to wear the hat to my right, it would be perfect for a garden party spent with the Queen herself.
The area that the shop was located in was darling! With gorgeous, luxury five star hotels around the corner and this adorable little car.
Sweet Couture
Yum! I am drooling all over my computer simply by reminiscing over these pictures. No joke, and gathering by the name of the shop, you can quickly tell that I was enchanted. Sometimes when you need a pick me up the most, life will lead you in the right direction.
So what exactly did I snack on? Guilty as I am I had not only one but two wonderful cupcakes. I tried a double chocolate because I simply couldn't resist and a rasberry and coconut concoction.
Truth be told, they were even more delicious than they look!
London Darling
Upon landing in London, I was already set on what I wanted to achieve in my short time there. My activities included:
1. Attend a fabulous class at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design
(the class was design for burlesque)
2. Return to my favorite store featuring the best luxury chocolates that money can buy. My favorites include their Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles and Cappuccino Truffles.
3. Check out the latest Yohji Yamamoto exhibition at the V & A Museum
4. Buy some fresh shoes to replace my scrappy old converses and several previous love affairs
5. Enjoy my time to the fullest with the people that I love
Immediatley after touching down in London, I rushed over to the V & A to catch the legendary designer Yohji Yamamoto's exhibition. The designs were amazing, all with a cutting edge precision that was spot on. He couldn't have come from anywhere else than Japan of course. Now there is another amazing book to compliment and add to my already large pile of coffee table books. They're the perfect thing to study when you are lacking in the inspiration department!
Apart from the impressive collections that are displayed at the V & A, I am also a complete sucker for the breathtaking architecture.
Lily Allen's Shop
Immediately upon spotting the sign that advertised Lily Allen's boutique, I found myself humming her hit song 'Smile'- "I was so lost back then but with a little help from my friends I found a light in the tunnel at the end".
The shop was filled with nick-nacks collected from around the world, featuring unique items such as a pair of perfect Pucci sunglasses and some fabulous frocks.
It felt as though I had been shown a glimpse of Allen's personal wardrobe. Très chic!
Copenhagen, Denmark
Greetings from Copenhagen! As you can see there is not much of a view today. Fog is currently covering the city and any sign of life and activity outside of the hotel room. It's a surreal experience waking up and looking out of the window and not being able to see anything. Lost in limbo anyone?
Jetting Off to London
As I will be jetting off shortly to London, I have started packing. This can often be the most strenous activity to do before flying. Therefore, I like to keep things simple. Meaning that I always try to travel light.
Essentials are however necessary. I always pack a small bottle of lotion to help me survive the incredibly dry flights.
For some on-flight entertainment I will bring Margaret Atwood's novel The Handmaiden's Tale. Exciting.
As for wardrobe, I'm thinking grey. Some might say dull but I'm thinking sophisticated and understated.
