A Night at Jamie's

Straight after class I rushed to make it to Jamie Oliver's hot new Italian restaurant 'Jamie's Italian' located in Covent Garden before the queues went out of control for the popular restaurant. Serving delicious Italian meals, I ordered a super fresh prosciutto salad while my friends tried the same and even experimented with risotto.

Back Again and Ready for More

Hello darlings, I'm now back in Stockholm, Sweden after my weeks in London, England. After bringing my camera along for the ride I figured I'd give you all some insight into the busy city. For those who have yet to visit the city, it can be one hot mess during summer or in other words a big melting pot of tourists from all around the world. While pushing my way through the streets I would hear a constant mixed buzz of Spanish, Italian, French and recognize the ring of Swedish and Chinese in my ears. A lot happened during my time in London, so prepare yourselves for several posts :)

London Here I Come

As most pictures in this blog, this one is taken by me. I just got a gorgeous new camera so I like to take it out and use it as much as possible. As you can see, this is the evidence that my cherry tree has started to grow. As a city girl I find this truly exciting, out of this tree comes the most perfect cherries- it's pure magic!

Before drifting away to the far away land known as England, I decided to give you all something deliciously sultry to drool over, so hopefully it will last a few days :) as I'm unsure when I will be able to send my next post. That fantastic green thing you're looking at above is a princess tårta (princess cake). Yum!

Nordiska

I stopped by to see the 'Power of Fashion - 300 years of clothing' exhibition. I loved the section on the historical garments, there was even a video showing the exhausting process of putting on one of those drop dead gorgeous Victorian gowns. The show featured clothes from different eras and from all over the world with a smaller section on the more contemporary clothes as shown above.

What an amazing building the Nordiska museum is, it is truely a gigantic space, way too big to fit on my camera!

While wandering around the museum, getting lost in the large building, I stumbled upon this fantastic mini exhibition on traditions and customs. As you can see above, my dining room was featured with my hard working servants Henri and Louis :) Oh I wish!

The balcony of the museum had a terrific view! Here is Strandvägen where I stopped by after to check out the design store Svenskt Tenn. Honestly I LOVE Strandvägen, I mean imagine what a great view I would have, looking right out at the water and Nordiska! I like :)

Meal Time

Now that it is summer it's hard to chow down on some hot and heavy food when you're dying from the heat wave. My solution is to increase my vegetable intake and decrease the rest. On my plate I have some fresh off the grill zucchini, and chicken, oven baked mini potatos and a super fresh salad with a light balsamic dressing.

I really love the grilled zucchini! It's juicy and fresh but also adds a bit of sweetness to the meal.

Vaxholm

Rowr!!! What else can I say about this delicious car? I spent the day in Vaxholm, enjoying the view :P Ahhh I love it there with the water, the boats, and even the creepy ducks and seagulls.

Yum, not only is it summer vacation but it is ice cream party as well. I simply can't resist the ice cream here! Oh and I'm wearing my new dress, did you all notice? Gorgeous! It's the perfect thing to throw on before rushing out of the house to an engagement since you always look dressed up. I like to pair it with some summery sandals since sneakers would absolutely ruin the look.

For the trip I brought along my sister, who also loves the ice cream here. Everyday has been an adventure, but all that will soon come to an end as we move the party along to London for a few weeks. I'm super excited to go back home to my favorite Bond and Oxford Street!

Millesgården

Stopped by Millesgården to get some inspiration from all of the big sculptures created by Swedish sculptor Carl Milles.

Kitty-san

konichiwa (hello) friends! Today I took a trip down memory lane while at the super market and found these delicious items. Kitty is a longtime friend from my years in Tokyo. I brightened up my bathroom with the signiture cat wearing her famous bow and adorable colors. My bathroom feels complete as it happens to match perfectly.

Stockholms Glasshus

Picking out ice cream at my favorite ice cream shop, Stockholms Glasshus. I chose a delicious mix of the classic strawberry paired with mint chocolate. It was super delicious! My fabulous acquaintance happens to be my terrific sister. She tried a mix of coconut and cassata. Cassata contains a mix of dried fruit and nuts.

Saft (Syrup)

Ingredients:
2 litres berries
3-6 dl water
6 dl sugar

Instructions:
cook berries and water for about 10 minutes
strain and sieve
reheat the liquid left over after the straining and sieving and add the sugar
let it simmer until the sugar is dissolved
let it cool and then pour into desired glass bottles
for a drink mix syrup with water, 1 part syrup to 3-5 parts water according to taste

Note:
for more syrup, the berries could be used again, just repeat the same procedure
enjoy!

Gröna Lund

Yesterday I went to get my adrenaline rush of the day at the amusement park Gröna Lund. No matter how old you are, you're never too old to do the kids section :) as they happen to have some of the best rides. My favorite is the carousel/merry-go-round. But here is me climbing into the ferris wheel.

I'm in the tiny blue box. Awwww it's sooo tinsy and adorable!

Summer Drinks

Wow, I don't know about everyone else out there but I am seriously starting to feel the heat here in Stockholm! Sure it's summer but sometimes it can simply get too hot. My choice of cool refreshment comes in the form of saft (juice). My favorite is the ecological blueberry juice shown above. Not only is it delicious, healthy, and ecological but it is also full of antioxidants.
